As I live and work in the same space, the lines between kitchen, garden, and creative space blur on a daily basis turning the space into a field of investigation. These circumstances have inspired me to transform the organic waste that I consume into natural pigments to paint with. As I deconstruct each food into a variety of colors, I have also been experimenting and replanting my own food scraps and seeds. I observe how seeds sprout and generate new colors, ideas, and eventually, ink.
I think of this practice as promoting the cycles of interdependence between the human and the non-human that make life and color possible on the planet.
